An intentional investment-based approach to performance improvement uses humor, humility, harmony, and honor (the 4 H’s) to positively move people and processes toward closing the gap between what is and what ought to be. Building on the foundation of asking positive, powerful questions (appreciative inquiry) and the rigor of human performance technology, investment-based performance improvement recognizes achievement and draws out the excellence that is hiding in the gap. Investment-based performance improvement, using the 4 H’s as the philosophical starting point, sparks a positive change in the workplace. When you raise others up, you go a little higher yourself, but then you realize that isn’t really what it’s all about after all.

Todd Conkright is an enthusiastic teacher, using his years as a human resources and training professional to equip learners to advance in their careers and lives.
Todd is passionate about helping individuals and organizations close the gap between what is and what ought to be.
He currently teaches business students at Grace University where he is a professor and Chair of the Business and Technology undergraduate degree program.
This session has been approved for 1 (General ) recertification credit hour toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
