The Learning Event:
As a dedicated training and development professional, you work hard. But just designing and delivering excellent training is no longer enough. As you know, the transfer of learned skills to the workplace is critical for your organization’s growth and survival - and for your own. More and more, training budgets are linked to learning analytics and outcomes. All in all, it is extremely expensive if what trainees learn doesn’t become what they do.

You can change tires every day. But if you’re not even in the right car, it’s not going to advance your organization. You need to get out of the transaction business and into adding higher value. And you need to learn how to change tires while the car is moving!

At our May 16 learning event and workshop, you’ll learn how to make "Can do" become "Will do!" and how to make a compelling case for the value of your training.

What you will learn at the luncheon learning event:

* Learning transfer: What it is
    * Why it’s important: The stunning cost of transfer failure
    * The top 9 barriers to learning transfer
    * 80 actions which can be taken before, during, or after a training program, to improve the probability that skills learned in training will be applied on the job
Which actions must be taken by the trainer, which by managers and supervisors, and which by learners, in order to ensure learning transfer
Then stay after lunch for Jeanne's 2-hour workshop. She'll show you how to create a learning system by partnering with stakeholders in order to ensure learning transfer and get the most from your training investment.

The Workshop:

What you will learn:
T
he “Besto Products” story: 9 learning transfer barriers in action
Teaming up with learners: 10 activities to ensure application
Partnering with management in the Training/Performance Tango: Who does what, when, and how
Step away from the training: How to avoid training when you know it won’t transfer
Getting strategic: Why and how to focus on the expectations of your five most important stakeholders, align training outcomes with business needs, and use strategic metrics that management will understand and respect
Great for-future-reference resources available 24/7

Special opportunity to build your learning library!
Jeanne has built an extensive learning library and is planning to give away around 50 of her best training books.  All are gently used classics that would be a terrific resource to anyone in the workplace learning and performance profession. Come early to network and browse the selection. Then stay for the workshop and an opportunity to win one of four books on today's topic.
