Organizations are becoming leaner each day. This increased focus on maximizing growth while minimizing costs has talent implications. Specifically, organizational leaders want proof that talent investments are effective, efficient, and produce a return.

In this presentation, we will describe the rise and importance of evaluating talent investments, provide a guide for conducting evaluations in organizations, and share real-world examples from our own evaluation work at Category One Consulting.

Dr. Sara Roberts is Co-Founder and Principal Consultant at Category One Consulting (C1C), a consulting firm focused on helping organizations maximize their people and program effectiveness through the application of research, analytics, and evidence-based practices. Prior to starting C1C, Sara served as Director of Talent Analytics at ConAgra Foods and a Research & Evaluation Specialist at the Omaha Public Schools. 

Sara earned her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and is certified in Relational Database Fundamentals and Structured Query Language (SQL) by the Nebraska Business Development Center. 

Chris Fitch is a Senior Organizational Effectiveness Consultant at C1C. Prior to joining C1C, Chris served as a Research & Evaluation Specialist at the Omaha Public Schools and as a Manager at Hy-Vee Inc. 

Chris earned his MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his BS in Psychology from Iowa State University. He is also certified in Relational Database Fundamentals and Structured Query Language (SQL) by the Nebraska Business Development Center.
