Plato said, "Know thyself," and being aware of your personal communication strengths and limitations can affect how you deliver the message in a meaningful way. Some speakers are highly energetic, displaying animated vocal and physical characteristics; whereas, other effective speakers are more deliberative, with a soft confidence.
Because oral communication is different than written communication, we must craft our messages to meet the needs of our audiences to engage them to continue to listen. Being emotionally connected and intellectually charged, you can perform with your own signature style.
In this session, you'll learn some tips and strategies that'll enhance your communication style, allowing you to present with confidence and ease. In the end, speaking your way to success.

Tina M. Bakehouse (M.A. Communication Studies and Advanced Professional Writing, University of Nebraska-Omaha; B.A. Communication Studies and B.A. Communication-Theatre, English Teaching, University of Northern Iowa; Business Communication, Disney Institute; Keirsey Temperament certified; Level II Improvisation) has been teaching at Creighton University in the Communication Studies Department since 2007.
In addition to teaching, Bakehouse, is an executive communication coach; developer and facilitator for a wide-range of creative communication workshops for educators, managers, and other professionals in the Omaha-metro area; and a Farm to School educator for Mills County in Iowa, including an after-school program for East Mills Elementary. Bakehouse has experience working in human resources and training as well as judging college and high school speech competitions.
With her passion for theatre and the fine arts, she has performed in a storytelling show in NYC and has produced and performed in other community theatre, improvisation, and storytelling shows.
