Keynote: "Being Human in the Workplace and the World: Enabling Flourishing through Authentic Conversations"
Workshop: "The Art of Conversation"

By the end of the keynote:

Participants will learn to reflect upon current cultural trends, their relevance to the workplace and their organizational roles in human resources, training, organizational development and related fields.

Takeaways include capacity to:

  • Frame organizational HR and training issues through the lens of some modern cultural forces, including discovering new perspectives on ATD’s foundational competencies regarding interpersonal skills, global mindset, technology literacy and personal skills, as well as developing further competence in TD Areas of Expertise.
  • Develop new approaches to dialogue and revised processes around organizational domains such as attracting talent, new staff induction, performance appraisal, communication and people management.
  • Reflect upon ways impersonal communication can shift to relationship-building conversation.
  • Identify and reconfigure organizational processes that motivate people and build engagement.
  • Establish empathetic, creative, productive human-centric environments
By the end of the workshop:

Participants will learn principles and practices that will, as individuals, enhance their personal and professional life and, for their organizations, facilitate a culture of connection.

The session will speak directly to ATD’s Foundational Competencies of interpersonal skills,
personal skills, technology literacy, and business skills, as well as developing attendee competence in the TD Areas of Expertise such as change management, performance improvement, training delivery and coaching.

Meet The Speaker

Stuart Chittenden

Squishtalks


Born in sight of England’s Canterbury Cathedral, Stuart has called Omaha home since 2004. Formerly a London lawyer and an Omaha brand consultant, since April he has dedicated 100% of his time and efforts to Squishtalks, a conversation catalyst he founded in 2010. Squishtalks designs and delivers learning experiences based in conversation for companies and nonprofits. His most recent community project, recognized and exhibited statewide, was “a couple of 830 mile long conversations," recipient of Humanities Nebraska’s largest grant award in 2015. Stuart is a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. He also is a published poet, which fact seems unmoored from anything else here…
