The Association for Talent Development (ATD), is the world’s largest association dedicated to those who develop talent in organizations. These professionals take the knowledge, skills, and abilities of others and help them achieve their full potential. The Nebraska Chapter of the Association for Talent Development's vision is to be the preferred resource for workplace learning professionals. The chapter's mission is to enhance members’ abilities, to develop talent and support clients and organizations in our communities.

Nebraska chapter's Board of Directors are interested in ensuring they have diversity of thought in their cohort group. While many of the members of the board have an instructional design or eLearning background, they recognize there are many more professionals, spread across all industries, who have a vested interest and energy in developing employees through a variety of means such as training, apprenticeship, monitoring, coaching, stretch projects, awareness and leadership development.

There are currently two open positions on the ATD Nebraska Board of Directors which the group is dedicated to filling with professionals who are passionate about learning and development, but do not necessarily work in dedicated training positions in their company.

Secretary requires a support of the organization's vision and mission, the ability to apply structure and effective communication related to board meetings.

Director of Communications position requires consistent and creative writing skills. This position is responsible for setting the tone and voice for the chapter.

If you have a recommendation for either of these positions, or are interested in serving one of the positions, please get in touch with the board of directors by email

Do you work with limited training funds to enhance your skills? If so, I know exactly how you feel! I was in your situation several years ago. I wanted to increase my knowledge and marketability in the training and development field, but had no budget to attend Trainer’s Institute. Luckily, a member from the Board mentioned the ATD Scholarship program. I had no idea this even existed, so I applied! I was blessed to be able to attend Trainer’s Institute resulting in an awesome learning experience! As trainers, we spend so much time developing others and now it was time to develop myself. Fast forward a few years later, I’m now a member of the ATD Nebraska Board, encouraging all of you to take advantage of the scholarship available through the Chapter! Don’t let limited training budgets  stop your own development! If you want to learn more visit .
